Practice update 

Surgery Closure

 

The surgery will be closed on Wednesday 19th June from 13:00 for essential staff training.

Our phone lines will be open as normal the following day (Thursday 20/06/2019) from 08:00 with the surgery opening at 08:20.

If you require medical attention at any time when the surgery is closed see below:-

Community Pharmacies are all able to provide confidential advice and in many cases medication for common ailments (A number of these are free under the Choose Pharmacy Scheme). A list of pharmacies and opening times can be found on the Cardiff and Vale Health Board Website at -

The GP Out Of Hours Service operates whilst surgeries are closed. This is for urgent care needs, which cannot safely wait until GP practices re-open. The service can be contacted on 01446 729562.

Accident and Emergency Departments and 999 ambulance services are for immediate life threatening conditions only.

Water Leak

Following the major water leak at West Quay Medical Centre, we are currently unable to open our automated doors at the rear entrance of the surgery.

Please use the main entrance when attending.

Steve has a broad range of medical interests.  When time permits, he enjoys sailing, cycling (Cardiff to Tenby cycle ride 2016 and Bilbao to Cherbourg 1000km 2015) and walking, and is the doctor to Barry Dock Lifeboat Station (RNLI).  Member of Barry Male Voice Choir

Sue has a special interest in dermatology and helps treat a wide variety of cosmetic and non-cosmetic skin conditions.  Sue spends her spare time horse-riding.

Dr Rhodri G Lewis (m)

MB BCh (1999) University of Wales

Rhodri has a particular interest in helping treat musculoskeletal problems, sports injuries and also paediatric and palliative care medicine.  He is the Practice Lead GP for supporting Ty Hafan Hospice. 

His outside interests include being specialist doctor for rugby matches, especially for Ospreys and World Cup events.  He has a wide taste in live music.

Dr Glenn enjoys running, walking his dog, and is also the team Doctor for Aberavon RFC.

 

Dr Catherine E Wray (f)

MB BCh (2007) University of Wales

Dr Catherine Wray is a salaried general practitioner, and joined the practice in 2012. When Cat is not working, she enjoys an active lifestyle, and is a keen skier, cyclist, runner and tennis player.
